Jeff Venables
Jeff Venables has taught chemistry, forensic science, and personal finance to students in Rock Hill, South Carolina for the last 30 years. His dedication to teaching and passion for financial literacy have profoundly impacted thousands of individuals, equipping them with valuable skills for both academic and personal success.
Jeff also brings eight years of distinguished service in the U.S. Navy Reserve, which has instilled a disciplined, strategic approach to problem-solving and leadership. His academic journey includes a B.S. in Chemistry from Wofford College, a Master of Liberal Arts from Winthrop University, and an Ed.D. in Teacher Leadership from Walden University, reflecting his lifelong commitment to learning and development.
In addition to his teaching and military background, Jeff holds a Financial Planning Certificate from North Carolina State University.
Over the past five years, he has served individuals and families as a financial coach, providing clients with insightful, actionable advice to help them achieve their financial goals.
He co-authored a book called “TL;DR: Financial Literacy for Employees of South Carolina Public Schools: Optimizing Financial Decisions Based on Your PEBA Benefits,” and teaches a course with the same title for teachers in South Carolina. Jeff has successfully advocated at the local level for the improvement of the 403b system, and continues to advocate at the state and national levels to improve teacher retirement plans.
